Community Development

The prime objective of the division is to ensure that the overall development of the community is not overlooked when implementing the industrial programs.

INCIDIN Bangladesh, considers the problem of child labour; children engaged in hazardous works, child victims of trafficking and both commercial and non-commercial sexual abuse, as one of the most urgent agenda of community development. INCIDIN Bangladesh, deals with the problem of child labour employing both the preventive and curative methods.

INCIDIN Bangladesh, through a participatory approach, tries to assess and meet the health, education, housing and other needs of the community which directly affect their status as human beings and their effectiveness as productive units.

Along with environment, INCIDIN Bangladesh gives special attention towards children, women, indigenous people and other vulnerable social groups and assist and empower them through awareness programs, training, income generating programs and support systems.

Programs under this division are: Misplaced Childhood (MC), a drop-in centre for sexually exploited street children; Safe Night Shelter for Street Boys, Benarasi School Program, a formal school for children of the Bihari community working in sari waving factories.
